A Few Words About Me
Velma Bell, LCSW
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice from University of Missouri-St. Louis and my Master of Social Work from Washington University in 1994. In 2002, I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW) in the State of Missouri. My professional background includes many years delivering therapeutic services to individual, couples and families. I also have a successful track record in program development, implementation, program evaluation, nonprofit governance and management.
I have been fortunate to bring to this work substantial experience and knowledge of mental health services, health care, in-patient and outpatient treatment, educational services, and community based services. I have worked with well with diverse populations including active duty military members and their families, pregnant and postpartum women, substance use disorders, justice involved adults and undeserved populations; ages ranging from infancy to the elderly.
This is why I started Bell Inner Well Counseling (BIW): to combine my extensive knowledge as a mental health therapist with substantial real world experience to assist clients find mentally flexible and joyous ways of living. Respecting the dignity and worth of each client is my guiding principle. I don’t subscribe to a “one size fits all” approach. I offer services that are individualized, inclusive and based on the clients therapeutic needs and goals. Your inner well being is our commitment.
